PM-USHA, or the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, is a government scheme launched in June 2023 to improve the quality of higher education in state-run institutions by funding initiatives for infrastructure, equity, and excellence. It is the third phase of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with a funding ratio of 60:40 between the central and state governments. The scheme focuses on aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and provides support to universities and colleges, with a particular focus on educationally underserved areas and "Focus Districts".
