CA Foundation
Here is some basic information about the CA Foundation:
1.Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
Candidates can register for the CA Foundation after appearing in the 12th class examination.
2.Registration:
To pursue the CA Foundation course, candidates need to register with the ICAI.
Registration can be done after passing the 10+2 examination.
3.Syllabus:
The CA Foundation course has four papers:
Paper 1: Principles and Practice of Accounting
Paper 2: Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting
Paper 3: Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics
Paper 4: Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge
4.Examination Pattern:
The CA Foundation exam is held twice a year, in May and November.
The examination is conducted in a descriptive and objective type format.
The passing criteria involve securing a minimum percentage of marks in each paper and an overall aggregate.
5.Articleship Training:
After passing the CA Foundation exam, candidates need to register for the CA Intermediate course.
During the CA Intermediate course, students are required to undergo three years of practical training, known as articleship, under a practicing Chartered Accountant.
6.Exemptions:
Graduates or postgraduates in commerce with specified percentages of marks are exempted from appearing in the CA Foundation and can directly register for the CA Intermediate course.
7.CA Course Levels:
The CA course is divided into three levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Final.
8.Post-qualification:
After successfully completing the CA Final level and fulfilling other requirements, candidates become eligible to become a member of ICAI and are conferred the title of "Chartered Accountant."
