Department of B.Voc


The University Grant Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme for skill development of students in higher education institute leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc.) Degree. The B. Voc. Degree Programme is focused on preparing graduates/ Diploma- holders with necessary job market skills enabling them to gain appropriate employment or become entrepreneurs. In addition to the Degree from the University, the respective Sector Skill Councils give a certification with the NSQF levels 5, 6 and 7 respectively for these students.

Objectives :
                     • To provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
                     • To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work ready at each exit point of the programme.
                     • To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
                     • To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
                     • To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.
Levels of Awards :

The certification levels will lead to Diploma/Advanced Diploma/ B. Voc. Degree in one or more vocational areas and will be offered under the aegis of the university.

1) B. Voc. (Computer Technology): The aim of this programme is to equip the young graduates with adequate knowledge and acquire skills for employment and entrepreneurship in the Software Industry. This program is designed in such a way that, after completion of this course student will get jobs in the field of industries in the purchase / stores/ sales department as well as data scientists, programmer, computer assistants in offices & accounts Department, technical management, Android Application Developer, Technical Support Representatives etc.

2) B. Voc. (Food Processing Technology): The aim of this programme is to equip the young graduates with adequate knowledge and skills for employment and entrepreneurship in the food industry. Food processing industry has very good job prospects in India and abroad. The curriculum covers skill components in different areas of food processing industry. This course will identify and fill the skill gaps. The mandate of this program is to create a course with industry-academia collaboration that will produce skilled workforce satisfying specific needs of the industry. This course will offer multiple needs of the industry. The structure will allow students to have thorough theoretical knowledge coupled with rigorous hands-on training in both laboratory and industry. After completion of this course student will get jobs as Food Process Engineer, Economists, Senior Technologist / Manager, Food Inspection Officer, etc.

The department organizes the National/ State level conference, Quiz competitions, Poster presentation competition, PPT presentation, Guest lectures, Parents Teacher Meeting, C language competition, Workshop on Robo-feast, Carrier Guidance Seminar, Seminar for career Opportunities, Computer Literacy Program, Art Exhibition Competition, BOS Meeting, Campus Interview, Staff Seminar, Visit To “Sevagram” Kawatha, ICT Training for Secondary Teachers. As a part of continuous internal evaluation the department conducts Activity based test, Surprise test, Poster presentation and Home assignment. In addition to this the faculties of the departments are felicitated for special achievements.
